If you have a Youtube or DeviantArt account, please leave that username as your freewebs name, or at least include it in your comment somewhere so I, and others know who you are. There is no 'reply' ubtton, so I can't really reply to specific people on here. Thanks.Well for starters I'm glad to see most people are enjoying my recent Welcome to Africa video. If ya haven't seen or knew about it's existence yet, check it out HERE if you're interested! But enough self-promoting whoreage.**RANT TIME'D**Aside from the 'Numa' franchise that struck RE gamer/youtubers, I think the most ripped off idea of mine is the Montages. And while I'd like to make a fourth, I can't help but feel cheesy about it anymore. It's been done over... and over.. and over.. and over again SO many times that I've seen (they even use the same title, some people even got the gonads to take my title and stick a random number on the end as if it's in 'affiliation' XD) I just feel disheartened to even attempt to make a new one. I've seen some pretty drab ideas... but it makes me wonder if my old Montage Rumbles were just as drab, but people only watch cause I'm, well... me.An ass-kiss magnet.I know this is basically the same thing I rabbled on about in the last Blog, but I don't think people even got the main point of that one. I wasn't mad at -EVERYONE- who either copied or were 'inspired' by me and my videos. The only people I was 'mad' at (hell I wasn't even really mad, it's mostly funny anyway) were the people who DO copy, but then act like big shit and pretend to be 100% original and/or superior to myself, who never even spoke to them before XD While I do sometimes feel a lil' ripped off that some people copy me to a tee, in the end, the people with true talent will shine through and 99% of the time be original (in as much a sense as 'originality' can be)But I digress.Anyfuckingway, yeah. Montages. I'd like to make a 4th sometime, maybe soon, maybe later, who knows, but I've wanted to do one. But now it just seems like another 'Caramelldansen' fad or something. So amny people have done it. Maybe, somewhere deep down, I created a type of 'Meme'. But it still gives me the 'Ugh' feeling when I page through the ideas I have copied down on note pads, just thinking that nowadays the Montages are just flat out lame, cause simply put; they've been overkilled.I guess I am a little hypocritical compared to the last Blog though. I mean some people did ask me 'What IS originality anyway?' I mean look at me, I sure didn't invent Resident Evil but I make videos about em. Not too original. And the Montage idea itself came from Robot Chicken, and the AMV Hell. I like to think though, that making one specifically for Resident Evil was at least somewhat original in that sense. And now that an ass-ton of people have been doing just that: Resident Evil Montages (even taking the name... again) I suppose it's a done deal of a dead idea. It's not that I have no other ideas or anything, I just know that my Montage Rumbles are one of the more popular series of videos besides the Numas and the Survivor Series, and I also enjoy doing them very, very much. It's retarded fun. But now it just seems KO'd. As usual, there's not much I can do. I don't hate anyone for how things turn out, but that's why I rant. So I don't axe murder any individuals But yeah, I don't really plan on having major feedback cause I didn't really 'ask' anything, or whatever. Just another rant. I enjoy typing out what's in my head. Maybe it can weed out more of the people around here. Some might agree, and have advice, others might go and call me a stuck up beyotch again. Then I'll know who to remove on Youtube so yay XDD-Leggy
I feel like ranting. I haven't made a big rant in a long time, save for to a few individuals. But it wasn't about the topic I feel like posting on here today. A topic that's been around for a while; a long while; since the beginning, in fact. The title seems to say it all maybe, but I feel there is more to be said on this matter. It's been clear to me for a while that I've been an inspiration to many people. I've been told this many times, but don't get me wrong, I'm glad I could be the push for some people to try at what they thought they could never do. What I'm saying now though, is that 'inspiration' can have it's limits. Not to mention notoriety. In my days here, believe me I've seen just about every video I've done copied in every which-way imaginable. Either from quotes said, to character design, to character poses, songs used, ideas/themes, you name it. I used to get peeved about it, but nowadays I just pretty much accept it, because let's face it: If it's basically an unoriginal copy in one or more of said ways, where can it possibly go? I have no right to get mad at that, in fact, I'm sympathetic because a lot of those people really are trying their best, only to be shot down by a die hard crazy fan who bashes them for plagiarism. If it's a user/artists first time trying a video, and they use one of my videos/drawings/ideas as a base, I can see where that's coming from, and it's not so bad. As long as that user does not make it a habit to take my work and eventually develops their own original ideas and drawings, then they have my blessings.Which brings me to those who CAN'T drop that idea. Maybe they used some of my designs, or ideas etc. and got a couple positive compliments on it. That's when things can get sour. From some of the video descriptions, Stream convos, and PM's I've seen lately, modesty seems to be a thing of the past, along with common courtesy and the fact that 95% of the time, the individuals ideas are completely unoriginal.I don't know why some people have to take this whole Youtube experience as a huge competition to be #1. I've never seen it as such, I don't even consider myself as a '#1'. But lately, it constantly seems like certain people are just out to be "better then ShadowLeggy". Some even claim they already ARE better. This rant isn't about me being pissed/scared at someone who's trying to 'take my place' (whatever place that is). This rant isn't about 'ranks' or who's better then who. That's all a matter of opinion. This is just me wondering out loud where the morality has gone. not only that, but how some other users can actually fall for that kinda crap. Well, then again, I do kinda know how that happens. It's just sad, really. I see it so much lately. Typically, a user starts making his/her own videos,(let's call them a Leech) one or two of them are somewhat copies of mine. They spam said videos in Bulletins to no end, and send them to everyone via Video Send. Then people start to come and watch, cause come on, sometimes it IS hard to ignore those Bulletin Whores. Anyway, once the Leech starts getting their group of people to see their work, that's when things get cocky. They start claiming to be so original, so uninspired. And the way the 'hook' works is; They actually have the time, and a decent amount of 'fans' to talk to. That's when I start to get dragged into it. The Leech then for whatever reason starts telling his/her fans how much better they are then me, or other users. They just go around bragging about their art skills, or fanbase, but the key thing: That they actually 'talk' to their fans. "ShadowLeggy doesn't care. She's too stuck up to care. But I care."I'm not stupid, people. As I said before, a large majority of said 'fans' of the Leeches, are usually either my fans, or people on my friend list. When Leeches start talking like that to people, I find out one way or another. Maybe I am a stuck up person for not talking to each and every person who says Hi to me. But I don't try to act bigger or better then anyone. I'm just an online user, doing something I love. Somehow I managed to get a lot of hits on a video, and now suddenly I'm a target for egotistical bastards/bitches XDI like to see myself as an honest user. Not a Saint, or some gift from above unto the people. I like to keep it real. I'm nice when I wanna be, I'm a bitch when I wanna be, I make it clear that I keep my friends and fans apart, and I also make it clear I can't be 24/7 Fan Assistance. Maybe it's not what everyone wants, maybe a lot of people think I'm a stuck up bitch for it, but at least I'm being honest to them and to myself. I can admit though, while I do tend to promote my websites when they are either created/updated, I like to think that's a generally normal thing to do for any user. The only time I think I Spam bulletins is when there's a glitch or I mess something up.I know users with the more normal lives will groan and sigh. 'Oh boy, Leggy's at it again, taking the interwebz life way too seriously.' (Then again, if they care about my view on the internet so much, why should THEY be caring since it's, well, the internet still? XD) Well, it's my life. And it's not like I'm uber pissed, or depressed over this. It's just a rant. We all make em :D And no, this does NOT go for 'every single on of you' out there, particularly the animators. But yeah, if you got any questions or views or input on this, just drop a comment. Like, does anyone think I'm being hypocritical about this? Stuck up, or unfair? Do you know anyone like I was ranting about (Leech)? How do you feel in general? If you want to talk more in depth about this, I'm going to post this, and other Youtube Blogs on my website, where I'm pretty sure the typing characters are unlimited. (Must sound like shameless self promotion again but seriously, I hate Youtubes limits on typing). But yeah. I do want to get involved with the fans again within reason, so maybe starting topics and discussions like this on a Blog can help out a little. It's the most I can offer. Just remember, be honest.~Leggy
To new Subs/FriendListers: If you look to your left, you can find out some nifty information about what I'm currently up to, a little about what NOT to ask, a link to my unofficial website, as well as information about RE Musicals and how they're made. Below that is Teh Stream, which is basically a live Chatroom to talk about Resident Evil, meet friends, watch videos, and sometimes me and my friends will drop in as well. You can check out my Videos and my Favorites as well if you want, I have more Playlists of more narrowed-down video selections. most of them are comedies and/or about Resident Evil.I accept all Friend Invites, under the impression that the individual is a fan of mine. If you believe a Friend Invite means we will be close or personal friends, that's not the way I see it, so don't take offense if I don't reply to your comments or e-mails. I have my own life and own friends who I've known for a long time, and at this point in my life, online and off, I don't really have the time or patience to have all-new BFF's or drama.-Leggy
